The Lumina Project is proud to announce a recent collaboration with NARCANDirect.com and the Illinois Drug Overdose Prevention Program (DOPP) to address the growing opioid crisis in our local Bloomington-Normal community. Through this partnership, we successfully placed an order for 144 cartons of Naloxone—commonly known by its brand name, Narcan—with each carton containing two devices, totaling 288 life-saving units. Naloxone is a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdoses, and access to it can mean the difference between life and death in critical moments.

In the coming weeks, we will begin our outreach efforts to identify and connect with communities most in need, laying the groundwork for safe and effective distribution. Our goal is to not only get these devices into the hands of those who may need them, but also to empower individuals and organizations with the knowledge to use them. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing health disparities, promoting harm reduction, and meeting urgent needs with compassion and care. Stay tuned as we take these crucial first steps toward saving lives and strengthening our community.
