Mobile Volunteerism Initiative
At the Lumina Project, the time investment and hard work of our members remains one of our greatest assets. Even in the absence of a consistent donor base, we are committed to uplifting our community and addressing every disparity, medical or otherwise. Our Mobile Volunteerism Initiative (MVI) achieves this through strategic partnership and long-term collaboration with established NPOs throughout Bloomington-Normal.
The formation of these relationships centered around our shared service orientation allows us to introduce LP to a broader audience and is vital to our success. As the Lumina Project continues to evolve, this initiative will undoubtedly benefit from the addition of new members who can enhance this outreach!

Community Organizations

Saint Vincent de Paul is a national, Christian-based charitable organization that operates to uplift communities and reflect the generosity and compassion demonstrated in scripture. In Mclean county, particularly Bloomington-Normal, SDVP furthers this mission with their community food and clothing pantries. These efforts are supported by local donations as well as by harvest from their very own St. Isidore's Garden.

HSHM is a Central Illinois leader supporting people experiencing homelessness and living in material poverty. HSHM’s current array of life-sustaining services includes a shelter for men, women, and families with children; a full-service dining center for shelter residents and community members; Central IL’s first low-income food co-op; a community center where people can connect with services; housing programs to speed re-entry into homes; and street outreach services to reach people who may not otherwise initiate the process of being helped.
