At The Lumina Project, our mission has always centered on improving lives and strengthening communities - whether through medical outreach or broader acts of service. Recently, three of our co-founders had the opportunity to volunteer at the Benjamin Elementary School Carnival after being invited by the event’s organizing committee. Throughout the day, our team helped supervise children enjoying the inflatable bouncy houses, led engaging trivia sessions in the IMC, and stepped in wherever extra support was needed. It was an energizing and rewarding experience, filled with laughter, connection, and a shared sense of community spirit.

While this event didn’t directly align with our typical focus on medical outreach, it represents something equally important: our commitment to showing up wherever we are needed. Community impact isn’t limited to one domain - it can take many forms, from healthcare access to simply creating safe, joyful spaces for families. Our involvement in the carnival reflects the Lumina Project’s broader dedication to the well-being of the Bloomington-Normal community. Whether through medicine or moments like these, we remain devoted to supporting and uplifting the people we serve.
